I “Do” Robots at NIWeek

Hey everyone.  NIWeek has started.  Sorry I haven’t been able to blog for a couple of days.  Between the summits and the keynotes, I haven’t had a lot of free time.  Hey, if you see me around the conference, be sure to say Hi, and please tell me what it on your engineering mind.  

So, for this week’s video (I promise to post a new one each week) I would like to share a common problem that occurs amongst us all and that is trying to explain what it is we do all day for a job.  According to my mom, I “do” robots.  Tell your friends mom!

Superman was no engineer

I’m not going to deny the fact that super heros are great fantasies to latch onto, but let’s face it, they are not inspiring when it comes to engineering.  I grew up my whole life reading comics and watching movies with Superman and Batman, and you know what, I bet they couldn’t explain what the Marcus Theory is. Engineers are the real heros…

Dealing with Bullies

Bullies suck, but they are everywhere.  Usually they target the weaker and smaller kids from 3rd grade to high school.  Unfortunately for this community, it is usually the smarter kids that are also the smaller and weaker kids.  But, to give all my young Mindstorm using youngsters hope, I am now my bullies boss.  (Robert Johnson…)

An Engineer’s Bed Time Stories

I don’t have kids yet, but when I do, I promise I won’t read them stories about loopy-doopy make-believe fables.  My kids are going to learn about graphical user interfaces and how to solve the Entscheidungsproblem
